6th Grade: Treehouse in Perspective

Students learned about one point perspective drawing. Artists discovered perspective drawing during the Renaissance, as it was an accurate way to show depth and distance in a work of art. The days of flat looking drawings and paintings were gone.

Students became familiar with perspective terminology like horizon line, vanishing point, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines. After students drew the tree house and the tree, they added details to set the scenes for their own unique tree house getaways.

Finally, students learned to shade using a single light source, they found out that shading is another way to make objects look more realistic and 3Dimensional.
